If my child is sent home from school due to a pupil in their year group testing positive, do i need to isolate?

My child has no symptoms and can get childcare sorted while they are off school but dont know if im allowed to carry on going into work as normal.

You can. You are not a contact.

ForeverFloating · 05/07/2021 16:46

Yes, only if your child develops symptoms or tests positive do you also need to isolate

ForeverFloating · 05/07/2021 16:46

Yes you can go to work I mean

Thanks! Thats what i thought, but someone i spoke to assumed i needed to isolate too so started second guessing myself!

You don’t have to isolate, but whether you can work depends on what ‘get childcare sorted’ means. If the childcare is someone in your household, that’s fine, but you can’t e.g. share childcare with another family (even if the children are from the same school bubble).

You can go out to work while your child remains symptom less, but you cant have anyone outside of your bubbles in the house for childcare (and it's best not to have anyone outside your household, as that just I creased the people isolating if someone does get ill)

Childcare being covered is my partner will be off work on her rota schedule, so not anybody coming into the household.
