Positive case in bubble on Monday

If there's a positive result in school bubble on a Monday (so no contact since Friday) does whole bubble still have to isolate? Not sure how far back it goes.

This happened to my DS last monday. Sent home on Monday due to contact on the friday. It has also happened in the school I work in today

If it was a positive LFT on an unsymptomatic child then track and trace guidance is 48hours and the bubble shouldn't be burst.

If there are symptoms it'll depend on when they started.

However, the school may take a different approach.

It's a symptomatic case symptoms started today I think, tested today, so will probably get result tomorrow

Our school have done ten days since last contact. They're currently home since last week. We've been told if another child tests positive, ours can still go back after the ten days because they haven't been in contact since last week.

Ds had to isolate when the child with the positive test hadn't been in school for 5 days due to already being in isolation because her dad tested positive. Found this a bit weird as when I tested positive last summer track and trace only asked me about the previous 48 hours.

LucyLocketsPocket · 05/07/2021 14:24

Ours burst on a positive LTF too.

It goes back 2 days, so if the child starts with symptoms today , it won’t impact the class bubble
