PCR results time

Hey so we have been isolating for 9 days as I came into contact with a positive case although I am unsure who! I am confident it was only me who came into contact with said person.. anywho been isolating and my son who has had a cough for 10 weeks (had previously tested negative) cough got noticeably worse and also spiking a fever so tested both of us to be sure..

So we tested at 1.30pm yesterday (2/7) we still haven't received results, how long are they taking to come back now?
I have no symptoms other than feeling nauseous (not sure if that's a symptom) but I have been doing LFT everyday (all negative) so I do feel confident that we're both negative but was due to come out of isolation today so itching to go out and go for a nice walk as we've been climbing the walls

We were isolating as close contacts no symptoms but pcr came back negative on dc on the final day. We had regular pcrs as we wanted to avoid this happening. Time they took to come back varied from under 12 hours to about 30 hours. Even with positive pcr the Lft never showed a positive

15 hours for us last weekend - tested 9ish in the morning, result approx 2am the next day. I waited up for it as dd was going to her year 6 residential very early that morning - it came through with 3 hours to go (neg).

Thankyou, we've been tested a few times (all neg) and the results have never taken longer than 24 hours Infact the last time we tested they came back within 11 hours tested at 10am and results was back at 11pm
Guess it's just a waiting game

We did PCR tests at home on Tuesday that were sent off at 6pm and we got the results around 4pm Wednesday.

DS sent one off on Monday and still has no result. I wonder if he did it wrong or something.

@Bovrilly I think your ment to call if no results after 6days so maybe call and check!

Thanks I know I'm being impatient but we're dying to get out the house! And going to the drive in test site yesterday actually felt like a holiday haha

We tested on Wednesday didn't get the results back until 5 last night. Ours was postal as no drive in appointments available in our area.

That's a lightbulb moment, no, probably not! I guess it's too late now that it's been sent off, do you have to input a number from the test itself?

Just checked and it can't be registered now that we don't have access to the barcode - what a tit he is! 🤦‍♀️

His LFT was negative though, and he's been off school this week so has isolated for 10 days. Plus has been much better since he started a new anti histamine, so very unlikely to be COVID and nobody put at risk thank goodness. Lesson learned for next time though, thank you.

Test 11am thurs.
results 1pm fri.

Thanks you I'm just being impatient as I've had results quicker and knowing I should be out after a very hard 9 days I'm isolation

My two kids were tested last Tuesday at 10am and results were back next day at 11 - 25hours in total.

Varies. A few weeks ago took DS2 9.30am, results came around midnight. Took DS1 yesterday 8am, still waiting for result.

Tested on Wednesday morning results came through on Friday morning.

So same day as me. I'm thinking with the new variant and more cases there probs more of a bag log like at the start.. compared to when cases were low etc

@Bovrilly as long as you have a copy of the barcode on the box and The info book it comes with has the sample number on it. The text or email he received when booking the test will have the id number so if you have all 3 you can still register...

Thanks @igiveup21 I'll have a look and see what's in the bin. I have the id number so hoping some of the packaging is still here and might have the barcode. Just lucky that it's not super important to get the result.
