Test & protect timing?

Just had text for dd1 to self-isolate & end date of her isolation is end of today. We're in Scotland & away on holiday. Not had any symptoms and it's quite an isolated holiday spot so hopefully we've not spread on to anyone if we're asymptomatic.

On one hand v glad we didn't get the texts before we came away as we'd have had to cancel this long-awaited week away, on the other hand, text at 3:30pm on the last day of isolation seems a bit of a joke in terms of trying to stop the spread. No real point to this post, just feeling a bit exasperated by it all - does test & protect and contact tracing work better than this normally??

Have you not seen the news about the numbers of cases in Scotland and consequently the delays in test and protect being able to contact the positive cases to get close contact details?

Well not really been watching news as away on hols, did know numbers were high. Guess mostly it just seems like it wasn't really worth telling us now when there is 8 hrs left of the 10 day isolation period
