Hi everyone - perhaps a big conversation to start but - would you get the covid-19 vaccine during the 4th month of your pregnancy or would you delay it until after the 6th month or so? Many Thanks :)

Get it now. Covid in pregnancy is not nice at all. Cases are rising so you’re more likely to be at greater risk of being exposed waiting longer.

You might want to talk this over with your midwife or GP.

I can see why people are wanting to wait until the 12 week mark (although RCOG say there's no reason to do so) but why delay from 4 months to 6 months?

Personally if it was me I'd have at 3/4 months so you have some protection for most of the second and third trimester :)

@speckledostrichegg - just because im thinking the baby is still developing after the 12 weeks -i.e. not fully developed - but my way of thinking might be wrong as - equally - they say that MRNA vaccines wont cross the placenta.
