Typical progression delta variant

Could people who have had it talk me through Day 1 >>> end progression? Also how long from exposure to when symptoms show.

DH just tested positive LTF. We tested because he felt ‘off’ enough to phone in sick to work - but no other symptoms.

He has vulnerabilities (asthma, overweight). I checked him on my home Pulse Ox and he’s 95% which already feels ‘low side’ to me.

I’m a bit worried about him tbh - and for different reasons worried about how we’ll weather it as a family. I’m asking for people’s stories so I can ‘brace’ and prepare a bit for what might happen next. E,g. I know original variant folk would often feel better after a week but then feel much worse - is Delta like that too?

He’s double jabbed (though second dose only last week )

I know someone who had it last week, middle aged, double jabbed. They felt off colour for a couple of days, quite rough for a couple, then felt much better. The whole thing over and done with after a week.

Following with interest as I tested positive yesterday. Currently just feel like I’ve got a cold - cough is starting though I think.

I know 3 adults with single vaccine dose who have it now. All had one day of hayfever symptoms/feeling rough and then fine again

Double jabbed, I had Covid in May. Probably delta but maybe not.
Started with a scratchy throat and nose. Then sneezing and runny nose. Warmer
Than usual but not a true fever.
Very tired. Cough was like needing to clear my throat. Back at work the day I was out of isolation. Had an afternoon nap when possible for a week after that. Cough took a few weeks to clear completely.
Lots of rest, vitamins, nutritious food, no alcohol but lots of fluids, lemsip, benylin, night nurse.
It was just a bad cold really.

The Zoe covid app reports symptoms for one jab is headache, sore throat, cough, sneezing, runny nose.
For double jabbed it’s the same but no cough. Hopefully having had the second jab even though a week ago, it’ll boost his immunity a little more.
Get water and vitamins into yourselves and try not to worry too much. I know it’s easier said than done but you will get through it.

My first had blood shot eyes & a congested nose 2 days later got a high temp tested him & he was positive. 3 days later I started to feel congested & scratchy throat & I tested positive, next day bad headache like I had a sinus infection, next day started a cough but just for 24hours, lost taste & smell then about day 6 I just kept going really dizzy & feeling sick. My isolation ends on Saturday Yay!! & today I feel back to normal well still no taste & smell. I've shared a bed with my husband & him or my toddler did not get it.
I'm overweight not been vaccinated
I would say mine was very mild & I think it's the anxiety that made me worse as I was waiting to get worse but luckily it didn't come to that.

Sorry that was meant to say my son had it first

DeltaDarling · 01/07/2021 19:50

Yeah - the ‘it’s finally here’ grimness is really upping the anxiety.

I had it in may - one jab in March, confirmed delta by PHE. It started off with slightly cold type symptoms, full blown flu couldn’t get up or do anything for 5ish days then about 2 weeks to start to feel better. I was off work a month and I still have some lingering symptoms. I’m 36 and otherwise healthy

Yes totally feel you, to be honest I think it was the anxiety that made me feel poorly, because looking back I've definitely had worse colds.
