Dh plays an outdoor only sport. One of his team has tested positive . He has now been told to self isolate for 2 weeks. Given that we think he had covid early on and is double vaccinated .. what is the actual point of this. He has a job were team work is important and he cant now go into work. He will respect the rules however. We dont know if he will be paid or not and what on earth would happen to people if there is no financial buffer , but they dont get paid .

We are all in a similar position, self-isolating children here.

It's rubbish.

But right now the more stuff you do, the more places you go, the higher the risk of having to self-isolate. Hopefully it won't continue for much longer

Yes it must be a pain re the children and many othwr situations. It just doesnt seem to make sense when the people involved were outdoors at all times rather than an office ,shop, or classroom .

Yes, DS had to isolate because of a positive team mate.

It should be 10 days from the contact with the positive person, though - not 2 weeks

Nature and importance of employment or of any other responsibilities don't release you from SI

Hopefully close contact isolation will be ending soon. Fingers crossed that it can be replaced with testing. I think it is a really destructive element of the pandemic for many people.

I dont think his job doesnt mean he shd not isolate it just seems ott in and outdoor relatwd situation . And yes ,he has tested negative via a test done but he still has to stay off work .
