Contact tracing- how does it work

We are going on holiday this weekend to Cornwall from Scotland. Out tracing system is not the same and I have just realised that I don’t know what I do about checking into restaurants etc. Here I just scan a qr code and am good to go. Is it the same or is there an app I should be using?

There is an app but a lot of people don't have it. I've never had it and I just give my details at the door to be written down. No need to worry. A lot of pubs don't ask you to do it anyway.

Thank you. Still having to do it everywhere here just now and had that realisation that I had no idea what happens ‘down South’ 😂

Don't install the English app. It's a disaster and will have you self isolating before you've even left your car because you drive past a hospital on the way down. You can just given your name and time of visit and number.

Download the NHS app and scan at the entrance to wherever you are going. It works fine.
Or you can leave your name and phone no with the bar/restaurant/whatever.

The English app asks you for a postcode and won’t let you have a Scottish one. I’d just give details on pen and paper if I were you.

It doesn't work, at least not with the idiots running it (and at a cost of £37 billion) scandalous.
