I've had a horrible few weeks of cold/sore throat/cough symptoms after DS brought it back from nursery again.
I've got a wait for it.... Cough 😱😂 A hacking pleghmy chesty cough that is making my whole chest hurt from coughing so much tonight 😭 I've had PCRs done with each symptom when needed and they have all been negative.
I'm thinking of contacting my GP tomorrow because I'm worried about a chest infection/bronchitis/pneumonia type infection but I just know the moment I mention the word cough they won't want to see me so I feel like I'm wasting my time.
How do I get seen or get some proper examination in this circumstances? I mean ideally I would like a GP to listen to my chest like they used to back in the Olden days 😂 but I just know they wouldn't do that right now would they?!
Help 😩

I think you should try to speak to 111. Do you have a thermometer at home? If you've got a temperature with the other symptoms, you mention, I would really try to be seen, or at least get some proper advice.
(I'm speaking as someone who had pneumonia in the past which really, really does need medical attention. Having said that, I felt incredibly I'll with it and had a ridiculously high temperature.)
Whatever, I hope you feel better soon.

Ring GP first thing. Ours you ring and GP rings you back and they will decide to bring you in. My DH has had ongoing ear infection for a couple of months, he has been seen in GP surgery and at a rapid access centre, also seen a nurse twice. You probably have a chest infection which may need antibiotics, they will want to see you if you tell them your symptoms.

GP practice have what they call hot clinics that they will refer you too. These are for anyone showing any covid symptoms (even though its not necessarily covid) you'll be triaged by a GP over the phone who can send a prescription to a local pharmacy or if they feel you need to be seen you'll be directed to a surgery (may not be your regular surgery) for a f2f appointment. Please don't feel like you are wasting their time, the process to be seen might be different but you can and will be able to access a GP appointment.

The gp will see you if you explain that you've done several negative tests. For a chest infection you'll need antibiotics so give them a call asap
