Private nursery bubble bursting?

I only ever hear of schools, not nurseries. My son’s nursery hasn’t had a single case since this started…and we’re in a high incidence area.

You’re lucky my kids school been almost 10 times 😑

We’ve had three week long closures (private nursery) here

Howshouldibehave · 29/06/2021 12:34

Parents are less keen to test v young children and they also seem to get symptoms that aren’t one of the usual 3.

1 case all year in our nursery which was a member of staff.

Reported cases in Early Years had doubled in the latest week (beginning of June):

My twins are at a private nursery. We had three burst bubbles out of 5 back in Feb… they ended up closing for a week for a circuit breaker. Two other nurseries had to close at the same time

Willow4987 · 29/06/2021 12:46

My DS private nursery has only had a couple of cases in his class over the last 12 months

LlamaGiles · 29/06/2021 12:49

Agree you're lucky! We've had two 10 day closures at our small private nursery since they were allowed to reopen last year.

PurpleyBlue · 29/06/2021 12:51

Definitely affecting nurseries around here.

Flev · 29/06/2021 13:35

There was one case in each of the two bubbles at my daughter's nursery back in February, but nothing since.

PineappleWilson · 29/06/2021 13:45

We've had one at DD's nursery that I know of, but have relatively small rooms (it's not just "under 2s" and "over 2s" for example) so relatively few children were affected. The amount of PCR testing you have to do to get them to take a toddler with a standard nursery cough, they would have found any other cases if they'd had them.

Bobholll · 29/06/2021 13:52

We’ve had two closures so far. One full for 10 days. And one partial.. I consider us pretty lucky! I’m waiting with baited breath for the next one 🙄 DD hasn’t been ill either time but boy was she moody & horrible after a few days isolating. I know what I consider to worse for children. It’s not covid.

MindyStClaire · 29/06/2021 14:01

I was just thinking about it this morning - nursery has been open for a year this week, DD is full time and I'm not aware of any cases or bubble closures.
