Had a positive lft today. Been for my pcr today.

Have a temp. Horrendous headache and my back is pulsing with pain. How long will I feel like this? A few days? 24 hours? or should I expect the full 10 days? I know it depends but just wondering how it was for other people?

I tested positive last Tuesday started with congestion & a scratchy throat, next day headache & bad sinus pain, next day cough started but not overly bad....& I felt/feel really dizzy & spaced out....hope you feel better soon

Have you not had the vaccine?

1940s · 28/06/2021 16:16

Lots of people catch Covid with vaccine

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/06/2021 16:19

Poor you. Drink loads and keep up with paracetamol. Hope it's not too long before you feel better x

walkoflifewoohoo · 28/06/2021 16:19

Yes they do but I thought that they were unlikely to feel "horrendous" with the vaccine?

Someone from work has had both of the vaccines but has caught covid and is extremely unwell with it. I am sure the vaccine works for the majority of people but it is inevitable it won’t work for everyone.
Cakecrumbsinmybra · 28/06/2021 16:24

Doesn't everyone suffer differently?

Cookiedough123 · 28/06/2021 16:31

My vaccine was booked for Thursday! So no not yet!

There are people hospitalised after being double jabbed so not always

a colleague of mine is just beginning to recover having caught it. He's double vaccinated (second dose about four weeks before getting Covid). He was really unwell and I was surprised by that. He's young, too - 30. BUT I guess in way it might be almost good news - without the vaccine he might have been so ill he was hospitalised?

It's really not possible to say how long you will feel ill. It varies so much for everyone.

I was rough for 3 weeks. I know others that were fine after a few days.

All I can say is rest as much as possible and get a pulse oximeter to monitor your breathing.

I hope you feel better soon.

Probably 7-14 days but your symptoms may change (cough, fatigue). Plan in that anyway and you may be pleasantly surprised. Rest plenty and dont overdo it as you start to feel better or you may relapse.
