Covid Pass on NHS app

PuzzledObserver · 28/06/2021 10:01

Just decided to look at the NHS app and, as well as my Covid vaccine records which were already there, there is now a 2D code which says “Recovered from Covid-19”. This is under the Travel section.

Under the Event Trials section, it also shows the date of my positive PCR test.

This begs the questions: how do they know I’m recovered (I am) and don’t have long Covid (I don’t)? And for how long will the “recovered” section be there - if the intention of it is to demonstrate immunity in people who have not been vaccinated?

It’s almost 6 months since my positive PCR test.

I don’t know. Unlike other countries, the U.K. has never had a system for monitoring ‘recovered’. I assume it’s there because other countries are asking for it because they do follow up and have a way of getting that info from medical records.

If its for the purposes of travel then I guess all they need to know is if you are still infectious.

So I would imagine you are classed as recovered do many days after your positive test as you would no longer be at risk of passing it on.

Although I do think "recovered" is not the right terminology!

It’s not about whether you ah e long covid

That’s totally different

Some countries eg Portugal are allowing people in who have two vaccines or who have had one vaccine plus a previous covid infection

Therefore showing you’ve recovered is a good thing

@Watapalava that would make sense of why they added it to travel. And for the Test Events section, I suppose they could have some events for double jabbed only and others which allow recovered people, and compare the two. Although once all legal restrictions are lifted, it will be a bit moot.

Portugal are letting double vaccinated or those recovered in last 6 months avoid quarantine too
