Vitamins anyone know the recommended

LifesTooShortYOLO · 26/06/2021 11:48

I have been taking Multivitamins for around 4 months now.
I keep getting colds after my DS brings them back from nursery so someone suggested Vitamin C with Zinc to give my immune system a boost.
But the multivitamins I'm already taking had Vitamin C 80mg and Zinc 10mg in, can I take the other vitamins c tablets which are Vitamin C 100mg and Zinc 15mg?

I can't seem to find any concrete advice online about recommended daily Vit C and Zinc?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I don't know about zinc but excess vit C will not do you any harm, you will just pee it out.

Vitamin D3 will give you more protection.

Most of us are deficient.

Easily obtainable and cheap from Amazon or any of the online stores

NHS site says the amount of zinc you need is about:

9.5mg a day for men (aged 19 to 64 years)
7mg a day for women

You don't want to overdo it too much as zinc and copper need to be in balance.

The nursery phases is terrible for bugs. Your immune system is supported by your gut health - maybe take some probiotics?

Echinacea is also recommended for staving of colds but I’ve not used it myself.
