Self isolating - ideas for toddler

DS needs to self isolate for 10 days as someone at his nursery has tested positive. So looking for ideas to keep an active 2.5 year old entertained! We have a small garden. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Check out the 5 minute mum (website and book, she’s also on Instagram), she has loads of great ideas.

We had some ideas from our nursery when this happened to us. Some of the more successful were:
*threading cheerios/hula hoops onto dry spaghetti stuck in playdough to stand up
*dough disco (check YouTube) as they do that in nursery
*bubbles outdoors (waving them from the wand, trying to pop them etc)
*building a den from blankets, popping a pillow inside and putting a couple of favourite books in for them to look at quietly after lunch (again, mimicking nursery routine)

  • "shopping" in the house - giving them a bag and asking them to get you things, eg 3 red bricks, 1 spoon...

Good luck! In the end it wasn't as bad as we'd feared.
