Test and protect Scotland?

Does anyone have any idea of a rough timescale for them getting in touch after a case in school?

DS was due to finish primary tomorrow but all of the P7s got a text this morning to isolate Sad

I could be wrong but I think in Scotland the school act as the contact tracers? My child got told to isolate the day after their close contact tested positive, but that was a case in the community rather than school related.

We were notified by the school within a couple of hours of the parent notifying the school. I'm assuming public health notified the school too.

In Lothian Less than half a day when we were close contacts. Once all have been contacted a letter goes out to the non-contacts to say.

When DS tested positive on his lateral flow, I had a call from T&P less than an hour after I'd logged the positive result online. I gave them all the details they needed but also notified the school directly myself too. The head teacher told me she was very grateful I'd got in touch as it takes "anything from 5 minutes to 5 days" for T&P to contact them after a positive case.

School sent a text saying to isolate and we would hear from test and protect

Our school sends out an email to everyone that has been sent from the Test and Protect team for our local authority. We don't get contacted directly by T&P

School told us first thing, but said test and protect would contact us

Urgh. So awful that all the P7s have to isolate. Negative tests should mean no isolation, especially this close to end of term.
My assumption is the school bubble ends when the school term ends, so T&P can’t ask anyone to isolate based on school groups...unless that goes on for 10 days after end of term?
Who knows? We all need a break from the dreaded T&P system here. It’s awful how school children have been made to isolate even with negative tests, whilst the football crowds have partied.

Sorry I don't think I was too clear

School sent a text saying there had been a positive case in P7 and they should isolate until contacted by test and protect.

I assume things are different because school closes tomorrow ?

If anything like our school, we got all the notifications before the person was even confirmed positive so the day later they removed the isolation after we'd all changed plans !

The school contacted us early afternoon and we had a text from test and protect a couple of hours later advising DD was a close contact and had to self isolate. We're in Fife.

Massiveli · 24/06/2021 18:59

We had the text on Monday night, then got the actual letter with the date the isolation ends on the Tuesday night. So just less than 24 hours.

Massiveli · 24/06/2021 19:00

Should add that was this week. The last few times it's been much quicker but I assume they are stowed out at the moment (especially if you're in one of the hotspots).

JustABloodyMinute · 24/06/2021 19:53

@covidcloser that's interesting. Our only contact was from the (primary) school when the parents of the entire class were contacted to collect their kids.

Chocolategirl19791 · 24/06/2021 20:01

We had this with nursery. We got told/asked to collect from nursery mid afternoon but didn't get the official notification fromT&P until 6pm the next day

covidcloser · 25/06/2021 18:19

We got a text from test and protect just before tea saying DS is to isolate until 1st July Sad
