Hi all

So I started getting a cough yesterday, today I have had a positive lateral flow test and have just done a pcr test. I'm 29weeks pregnant. I feel Ill But not horrendous, a chesty cough, sore throat, a bit headachy and achy. My question is since I'm in my 3rd trimester do I still need to let the midwife know and get advice to be on the safe side or should I be ok just to isolate and rest?

Yes. Let her know so she can update your record. Keep proof of your positive test PCR test as you will need to show this to staff. I recommend your husband gets tested as well and saves proof of a positive test, if he gets one.

At my trust, if a woman or her partner have had covid within the last 90 days, they are exempt from being retested as we know that an old infection can show up on tests a long time afterwards.

Yes let your midwife know. And dont hesitate to call for help if you start to feel worse or have worries about the pregnancy.
