Does my child need to isolate?

A bit unclear on whether or not my child needs to stay at home.

Went to football on Saturday (does it twice a week - Saturdays and Wednesdays). The teacher contacted today to say he had a positive Covid test this morning, so the lesson is cancelled, and that the Saturday crew may have to isolate but he isn’t sure yet.

I can’t seem to find the appropriate guidance. Or will I get a call from test and trace? I never have before, so not sure how this works.

Confused!

Likely, depending on when coach's symptoms started. If symptoms started on or before Monday then yes. If yday, and he got a same day test and swift results turnaround, then no.

I'd say yes.

It's 48 hours before symptoms develop or a positive test

Thirtyrock39 · 23/06/2021 11:53

Whichever is first

We had a similar time frame with a pupil in school who tested positive no one had to isolate as was told it was only people within 48hours of the positive test yet I thought it was 48 hours of symptoms. Confused

Also was the coach that near to the children? I take it this was a outside lesson? Which also reduces risk. I would highly doubt you would need to isolate.

it depends how covid secure the lesson is - they should have a policy.

My daughter's musical theatre class had a case, but as they all dance on spots more than 2m apart in a large space and have doors and windows open for a good air circulation she didn't need to isolate, as a personal precaution however she took a daily LFT.

It was an outdoor lesson, and supposedly Covid secure, but they never really are with young children!

This is very helpful - I will find out when his symptoms started.
