What. So You can see straight in? I don’t want to see blokes pissing at the urinals while I’m eating my dinner, thanks very much.

Bordois · 22/06/2021 18:20

Aren't there rules relating to closed doors between toilets and food prep / eating areas in public places?

ChequerBoard · 22/06/2021 19:17

I agree about the filthy doors though OP, I went to the cinema yesterday and thought the same.

There was a well placed hand sanitizer pump outside the entry to the toilet area which I thought was a good idea to use on your way out after touching the many doors required to get out after washing your hands.

However I then had two more sets of doors to pull open to get back into the screen!

Gel your hands. Simple Coronavirus is the correct spelling.
neveradullmoment99 · 22/06/2021 19:23

Or maybe your spelling is a joke and I am not getting it! Always possible.

goddessofmischief · 22/06/2021 22:38

Coronavirus. Sanitise. Mask. Doesn't. Surely.
Just use the gel again after you're done touching anything you regard as unsanitary?
That was probably harder to type than it was to use more hand gel as necessary. I don't think toilet doors need propping open.

goddessofmischief · 22/06/2021 22:39

I guess it would also be nice to be able to sign out with the app when leaving, but here we are.

WithANameLikeDaniCalifornia · 22/06/2021 22:42

If you’re such a germophobe, why do you go to restaurants?

Moaningfor · 23/06/2021 08:57

Nothing to do with being a germophobe and I'm not at all . It just seems daft that after all precautions taken that we are forced to touch disgusting toilet door handles that haven't been cleaned .
Imagine washing your hands and walking out . So much nicer .

Sparklingbrook · 23/06/2021 09:00

Why are the doors ‘filthy’ ? Is there visible dirt on the handles?
I wouldn’t be eating there probably if that’s the case.

SorrySoldOut · 23/06/2021 09:03

How do you know they haven’t been cleaned??

Public places are under great pressure to keep cleaning and to remain covid safe. Otherwise they will close……again!!

SorrySoldOut · 23/06/2021 09:04

And you can’t prop open doors!! They are likely fire doors

RoseAndRose · 23/06/2021 09:04

The doors shouldn't be filthy

Sparklingbrook · 23/06/2021 09:04

You could always deploy the sleeve over hand or use a tissue to use the handle. But TBH if they’re that filthy give the whole place a miss.

roguetomato · 23/06/2021 09:29

Carry a hand gel. Problem solved.

Moaningfor · 23/06/2021 09:51

I already do that . I am a professional cleaner I don't clean pubs and toilets but if I did the toilets doors would be scrubbed .
I just don't understand why people don't see my point and I'm talking about Coved here not germs that give you an upset tummy . Coved kills . Case closed as far as I'm concerned .

You say the handles are ‘filthy’. Why is that?

If you touch something you think is filthy you wash your hands or use gel or a wipe. But why are you eating somewhere with such low standards of cleanliness in the first place?

FrenchMustard · 23/06/2021 10:31

Im not sure what caronavirus and coved are, but have you seriously only just considered that door handles are dirty??? This was a thing before covid...literally every single thing you touch has germs of some kind living on it - door handles, the toilet flush, the tap, the soap dispenser. Hell the toilet even sprays water particles up into the air when you flush it.

Why do you bother going out if you are so afraid of germs

itsasmallworldafterall · 23/06/2021 10:45

If the doors were wedged open then every time someone flushed without putting the seat down it would create an aerosol that spreads into the restaurant. Far easier just to use some hand gel once you are back through the doors, or you can buy a little metal hook to open doors that fits on a keyring

EvilPea · 23/06/2021 10:49

This is what its going to called when restrictions are lifted and people are still nervous

Karenovirus isn't it

EvilPea · 23/06/2021 10:50

Should say i will probably be one of them as its going to take a while to feel "normal"

Jabbinell · 23/06/2021 10:59

You are aware of how phones work, right? It tracks exactly how long you're there for, it knows where you are at all times - you don't need to sign out. I mean, technically you don't even need to sign IN.
Spottybluepyjamas · 23/06/2021 11:08

Use a tissue to open the doors and then gel again when you throw the tissue away
