I'm just curious really. The govt permitted hugs on May 17th I think. Did you wait until then to hug family and friends?

Dryshampooandcoffee · 21/06/2021 19:25

I hugged my SIL about 2 days before it was allowed, before that no one!

Hax · 21/06/2021 19:28

I waiuntil two weeks after my second jab in April for a long awaited hug with DS.
Not because of the rules but because I'm CEV and he is a teacher. He wouldn't risk hugging me until it wS safe.

Redcrayons · 21/06/2021 19:32

I waited till they were double jabbed.

Smartiepants79 · 21/06/2021 19:34

Nope.
@Scarby9 can I ask why?

shewalkslikerihanna · 21/06/2021 19:55

Pootle40 · 21/06/2021 20:00

SilverGlitterBaubles · 21/06/2021 20:00

Don't be daftGrin

RocheLobe · 21/06/2021 20:03

I’m not a big hugger.
However I had a baby in the first lockdown and I absolutely allowed family outside our household to cuddle her within a few weeks. The alternative was unthinkable.

mynameiscalypso · 21/06/2021 20:06

I've taken advantage of the pandemic to avoid giving my family, friends and in laws any kind of physical greeting. Long may it continue.

LublinToDublin · 21/06/2021 20:07

Yes. Only hugged people in my bubble.

LizzieSiddal · 21/06/2021 20:07

Yes my 75 year old mum.

No my adult DDs

I still haven’t hugged my PIL but they are both not in good health.

IsabellesMissingSock · 21/06/2021 20:10

Nope

Northernsoullover · 21/06/2021 20:10

I hugged when I thought it would be safer. When the infection rate was low and I hadn't mixed.

TooManyPlatesInMotion · 21/06/2021 20:13

No!!

Who I hug and when is between me and the other person. Not the fucking government.

southeastdweller · 21/06/2021 20:14

Hell no!

tonystarksrighthand · 21/06/2021 20:17

No I did not! Never stopped hugging them. Utterly ridiculous

TheFluffiestCat · 21/06/2021 20:17

On my mum's birthday, last August, I forgot and automatically gave her a hug. Otherwise I stuck to it.

Frogsonglue · 21/06/2021 20:20

Haha no.

Bobholll · 21/06/2021 20:43

Nope. I hugged my mum completely normally when my Granny died last Autumn (of covid). I did ask her as she’s ECV. She looked at me like I had 4 heads, then hugged me & cried even more at the fact covid was taking our instincts of basic humanity. She is still heartbroken she wasn’t allowed to say goodbye.

My kids have been hugging their grandparents as normal the entire time.

Otherwise, not so much but very much to respect the wishes of friends etc

Crunchymum · 21/06/2021 21:29

No.

My mum died 9 months ago (non Covid related) and like fuck was I not going to hug my dad and my siblings. Wish I'd got to hug my mum a lot more as well but she was following the rules Shock

PotassiumChloride · 21/06/2021 21:31

No. It’s not the place of the government to tell me who I can and can’t hug.
