I'm just curious really. The govt permitted hugs on May 17th I think. Did you wait until then to hug family and friends?

Nope

Katie517 · 21/06/2021 18:27

No. The government doesn’t have the right to tell me when I can hug my friends and family the fact that some people think they do scares the shit out of me!

lughnasadh · 21/06/2021 18:28

No, of course not.

XenoBitch · 21/06/2021 18:29

No. I hugged long before then. Looking back, it is utter madness that I let the government dictate such an intimate detail of my life.

DramaAlpaca · 21/06/2021 18:30

Nope. I did what I needed to do for the sake of my mental health and that of my family. If that meant hugging a family member in distress who badly needed a hug, well that's what I was going to do.

hellsbells99 · 21/06/2021 18:31

I have always hugged my DD when I meet up with her. I am still not hugging my mum as she is very high risk. Happy that I can spend time with her but would still prefer that I am not going to pass anything to her.

Delatron · 21/06/2021 18:31

Ha. No.

ThePhantom · 21/06/2021 18:32

Yes, as it was not just about me , it was about protecting them..

ASimpleLobsterHat · 21/06/2021 18:33

Nope.

UnChatNoir · 21/06/2021 18:33

helpfulperson · 21/06/2021 18:37

I pick and choose who I hug and will continue to do so until this pandemic is over. I keep my distance from my CEV family and friends and only hug those people I see very rarely.

Scarby9 · 21/06/2021 18:38

Still not hugging or touching beyond my bubble.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 21/06/2021 18:38

Only hug people in same household so it was never an issue really.

I’d want to keep anyone safe though so have followed the rules.

Bippertyboo2 · 21/06/2021 18:39

Of course not!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 21/06/2021 18:39

Nope.

Topseyt · 21/06/2021 18:41

No, of course not! It was utter bollocks right from the word go.

If I had paid attention to such shit then I would probably never have seen or hugged my lovely Dad again before he died after the worsening of his non-covid related medical condition.

I really can hardly believe that we ever got into a situation where a government was actually issuing guidance and legislation (maybe it was just guidance) on whether or not to hug. Utterly ridiculous.

Randominternetbitch · 21/06/2021 18:54

Sorry but who actually in their right minds needs to be told by the government when it’s ok to hug or touch their loved ones? I mean seriously?! Are these the same people that need to be instructed that a bag of KP nuts contain nuts??

ColettesEarrings · 21/06/2021 18:57

No. It was never illegal and so never a right to be restored. Ill advised, against guidance, whatever, but never illegal.

FuzzyPuffling · 21/06/2021 18:57

Yes.

Downtown36 · 21/06/2021 18:59

Absolutely not. Life is far too short and thankfully COVID has a very very low mortality rate.

My wonderful Dad died suddenly in November (not COVID related). I am so very glad I didn’t miss out on those months which we didn’t know were our last together.

pollyrocket75 · 21/06/2021 19:02

Really. Of course not!

crosspelican · 21/06/2021 19:04
