Im curious to know what the comparitive numbers were for the previous waves, when cases were at this level, but not sure how best to find this out.

Does anyone know what the hospital beds occupied & deaths numbers where, when the previous waves had our current level of cases?

Curious as to whether the cycle has indeed been broken or whether the deaths etc just havent risen yet.

I'm not really sure if it's possible to compare. First wave only very limited testing, second wave more testing, this wave we're testing people without symptoms too.

Hope the link works.

you can kind of do it on google, compare cases with deaths plot.

wave 1: really only tracked deaths, cases were undercounted

wave 2: tracked both

June 18th 2021 cases in England = 7566, deaths = 9 (ratio is 1 death to 564 cases); probably overcounting cases compared to 2020 sampling strategy

3 Oct 2020, England new cases & rising = 10,806 when deaths = 39 (ratio is 1 death to 277 cases)
