Hi,

I have my 2nd dose booked later today but I have got my period (unexpectedly a few days earlier this time). Can I still go ahead? I called 119 who didn't have information. I can't find any information on the vaccination website. Would anyone know if this is ok please. Thanks!

Yes of course.

Lellochip · 20/06/2021 09:12

Why wouldn't it be?

Sorry, I don't see a connection between the 2. Your immune system has nothing to do with your reproductive system! Think of all the women out of the 70 odd million who have had a jab - discounting children and post-menopausal women, that is quite a large number of people who must have had their period at the time, say a quarter of 20 million!

I've just had my first jab while on my period Smile no worries at all.

I'd assume so, the nurse didn't ask me or anybody I know if they were on their period whilst getting the vaccine.

Yes. Perfectly fine.

Thanks all for your replies. I am ready to leave now. I think I have just been overthinking this. I also get a lot of cramps and am generally moody on day 1 so have taken some paracetamol.

I had my second dose on first day of my period and all has been fine. Good luck!

Thanks all, I had my vaccine this morning and so far no issues!
