Positive parent - testing kids

What’s the process for testing children when a parent is positive.

I have notified the school that I am positive and so my kids need to isolate. Do I need to get them tested to see if their class needs to isolate or not?

Have you got any lateral flow tests.

We are near a surge area here so if one member of a family tests positive they test everyone.

However last year the mum of one of ds's friends tested positive, her husband and daughter started with symptoms but her son didn't . They decided to get him a test anyway and he was positive.

Thanks they’ve had a PCR. They’ve tested positive on lateral flow so expecting the same on PCR
