Hi all, I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I had the AZ vaccine the week before it was advised against giving it to women under 40 (I'm 24), and due my second in a few days.
I am SO conflicted in what to do. These are my pros and cons
Pros
- Delta variant is more transmissible so vaccination is a good idea
- 1 dose only gives 33% protection against Delta variant so best to get the 2nd dose
- everywhere is now open again so will be out and about a lot more so best to get the vaccine
Cons
- AZ not advised for under 40s but as I have already had first dose, not sure if I can now get a different one and start the process again?
- Not knowing the long term affects - if there are any for unborn babies
I feel like both options are a gamble and just do not know what to do. I was not going to get second dose when cases where down and falling, but now with the rise in cases, I'm second guessing that decision.
