Legislation relating to the smartphone app

Does anyone have a link to the legislation concerning self isolation notifications from the smartphone app please? I can find the general legislation on self isolation but this excludes notifications from the app.

The NHS COVID-19 app
(Late April 2021 release):
Data Protection Impact Assessment
28 April 2021

Pg 90
"A key point to note is that an app notification to isolate, based on exposure, is not legally
enforceable."

Thanks, that would explain why I can't find the legislation.

Another thing that confuses me is why there is a separate app called "NHS App" as opposed to, I guess "HNS Track and Trace" where you can see your vaccinations status and get the scannable info for it to act as your vaccine passport. Why are they separate apps? Makes nme think there are concerns about the "HNS Track and Trace" app not being fit for purpose (which it's not)

Actually, I think it's called "NHS COVID-19" not "HNS Track and Trace" - as PP said. So this is the track and trace app and there's a completely separate one to see your NHS patient records and get your scannable vaccination status.

NHS app has been around for longer than Covid. It was introduced when GP practices started to move to a more digital platform for prescriptions and appointments. Your vaccination status has been added to your record, which is just an additional functionality.

NHS T&T App was developed from scratch last year in response to calls for a mobile T&T device for Covid.

Completely separate things.

I use the nhs app for things other than covid vaccination status. It was very useful recently when I was waiting for a referal to go through, the appointment was on the app befpre I had the letter. I can also look at test results on there.

The test and trace app isn't linked to your nhs number, they are for two different things.
