Going away today for long weekend....dd found out someone she was with last Saturday night tested positive on wed (they think they contracted it on Saturday from someone they went to gym with)

Dd has done 6 LFT over the last three days, all negative but decided to get a pcr yesterday morning that we are still waiting for...do we leave as planned or sit around all day waiting 🤷🏼‍♀️

if she didn't see her within 48 hours of symptoms starting or taking a test then you can go.

prettyvisitor · 11/06/2021 10:07

I know we can go, I’m just questioning whether it’s a good idea.

If you are in a cottage without others, perhaps. Not if in a hotel.

Jellifer · 11/06/2021 10:18

If you are waiting for PCR results I thought you had to isolate until you received a negative result?

AnyFucker · 11/06/2021 10:19

I would go but that is me

I don't know for sure but my understanding is that you only need to do that if you are symptomatic.

I know someone who does PCR tests every week for work but doesn't have to isolate or obvously she'd never actually be at work

WaterBottle123 · 11/06/2021 10:27

My PCR came back negative in 17 hours so hopefully you will know before you have to leave. But I think you can go regardless.

Check email - the results come through on there several hours before text

sylbunny · 11/06/2021 10:34

Yes I would. She's outside of the contact period. Just try and keep contact with others to a minimum until you get results.

prettyvisitor · 11/06/2021 10:38

My last one came back in 23 hours, it’s now been 24 and it’s still not back. Is there any way of checking result online before text or email comes? We were ready to leave an hour ago. Just imagining being an hour down the motorway and getting a positive result come through!

sylbunny · 11/06/2021 10:58

No there's no way of checking. You can call up after 6 days. Just go!

prettyvisitor · 11/06/2021 11:09

Negative! Clearly results always come around 11am…
