I'm doing a party for DS at an indoor venue. He is only allowed to invite 5 friends and their parents are not allowed in the party room.

We had a small outdoor one at the end of May, which worked well. (artificial ski slope)

We've been to several in the last few weeks ranging from 5 to 20 children with parents. Some inside some outside. I think generally most people don't know the rules and just go with the flow. They have all been with children in the same school bubble though and I think the feeling is it doesn't actually matter that much given they're in the same room all day

Up to 30 people including all adults / kids outdoors or up to 6 inside . Although my daughter went to a party at a climbing place last week and there were 7 kids plus adults so not sure how that works .

30 people outdoors
6 people or 2 households indoors
Same as the rules for anything else

The rules are not as simple as above - for example if the party was an appropriate activity (such as an indoor sport) then you could have 30 indoors doing the sport so long as the "party" parts were outdoors and in the 30.

As someone said the 7 climbing would be fine, if all they are doing indoors is climbing, if they sit around indoors having party food then it's not. Of course if they sit around indoors cooling down after their exercise and replacing lost calories, then again it's within the law.
