Hair after Covid

I was speaking to someone in the week who said a relative had lost her hair after covid, and then came across something about increased need for patch tests for anyone that had had covid, even if a repeat treatment.

My hair has definitely got frizzier & more unkempt post-covid (and it has been cut!) - I was wondering if it might be covid related.

Has anyone else noticed similar changes?

Yes.

My hair was definitely in worse condition as a result of my hairdressers being closed for months on end. The colour also wasn’t as good because I was doing it myself out of a box.

Nope.. but my hair seems immune to change. Everyone said it’d get thicker in pregnancy, nope. Less greasy, nope. More greasy, nope. That it would fall out after the baby, nope. That it would go a different colour than usual when it was dyed, nope. Literally didn’t change one tiny bit.

It’s weird, some of the reported covid things are so similar to pregnancy. Hair changes. Altered sense of smell & taste. Also people reporting changes to periods Is covid causing hormonal changes?!

I don't think I've had Covid but following an injury earlier in the year all my curls dropped out of my moderately curly hair. I think it must be stress related.

With Covid it must be difficult to know whether hair damage is a symptom of Covid itself or a side effect of the stress, not eating well etc that go hand in hand with some cases.

I think stress related hair loss was common

Mine's just horribly frizzy then! - Getting it cut again tomorrow, may go a lot shorter.

I was shedding loads of hair earlier this year after having covid. I’d run my hand through it and loads would come out. Also it looks fluffy and shit all the time now
