Anyone else impatient?! They were on a roll a few weeks back, dropping by 2 years every couple of days but it's now been 2 weeks on age 30.
I'm 28!
Wales seem well ahead, and I'm sure other places are.
Just impatient and waiting 😀 hoping we are soon!

In my local area, they seem to be only doing 100 or so first doses per day, with 300 plus second doses. My son is 29 and I try each day, with no luck. They said yesterday all adults to receive their first by end of June. If so, they are going to have to up the supplies quickly.

lightlypoached · 04/06/2021 10:43

London - my kids got done at the weekend. There was a surge session at a stadium and they did 15,000 young people in 1 day. Amazing !

yellowmustard · 04/06/2021 11:00

I'm in that age bracket and got a text from my doctor I have mine booked in tomorrow! I think it all depends on your area!

Willowkins · 04/06/2021 11:14

Actually this is really stressing me out. My DC (18) has asthma. He was blue lighted and admitted to hospital several times when he was young but has been well controlled (so not too worried about waiting). However last week I had to rush him to A&E. Doctor there said he needed the vaccine. GP receptionist said he's not eligible and to call 119. 119 said it's up to the GP. Government advice is that anyone 18 or over who had ever been hospitalised with Asthma gets the vaccine. It's so frustrating.

LizziesTwin · 04/06/2021 11:20

DD lives in W London and got a text from her GP for a jab tomorrow. She’s in the middle of that age group.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 04/06/2021 11:21

Yes very frustrating.DD 20 goes to uni in Wales and they had a walk in for anyone over 18 the other day. I want other DD done ASAP really. They didn’t say the end of June though for all first doses, it was end July.

Wanttocry · 04/06/2021 11:34

DH (28) and I (29) got a text from our GP a couple of weeks ago to book ours with them. I had it last week and DH has his tomorrow.

My sister (27) who lives in a different area of the country had the same this week from her GP and is having hers next week.

So it seems that different GP surgeries are getting through them quicker than the official NHS booking. So you never know, you might get contacted soon

KerfuffleShuffle · 04/06/2021 11:34

I'm having a mare with mine. DH is CEV and was shielding. Subsequently I'm eligible to receive the vaccine and have received a letter from his GP telling me this and that I should book through my GP. My GP practice refuses to engage and tells me I will receive a text when my age category comes up but 119 say I should be recieving it but can't book me in a vaccination centre until I have a vulnerability flag on my primary care record to reflect living with someone who is CEV (which can only be done via my GP) I keep going round in this nightmare circle and have spent over 3 hours this week trying to get it sorted and I'm convinced my age category will be called up before this is sorted.

Yup 29, 30 later this year but just waiting and waiting it was moving so fast before but now it’s me next it’s nope wait forever.

nordica · 04/06/2021 12:33

I think everyone has felt like that before their age group was called. It certainly took a very long time for those of us in our 30s. Someone (older) said on another thread that it will feel like your turn will never come just before the roll out moves to your age group, and it definitely felt like that for me (I'm 38).

They are still expected to reach the "all adults by end of July" goal as much as a month early so hopefully you won't have to wait much longer. Smile

Lilothblos · 04/06/2021 13:59

I am 29 and getting really impatient! Especially as I have a lot of friends in another area of the same age and they all had vaccines weeks ago, they’re on to 25 year olds in that area now. It feels like weeks since the NHS booking site opened up to 30-31. So close yet so far...

Missypuff30 · 04/06/2021 15:27

Yup hubby is 29 and we are waiting for the national system to open up! Our GP doesn't seem to be getting through them quickly.

I've been double dosed as volunteering at vaccination centres.

Worrying with this new variant that he's got no protection

Horst · 04/06/2021 15:36

Indeed when some areas are onto 18 year olds and it takes 3 weeks to kick in. Jabbing younger in hot spots but leaving others behind seems rather shutting the door once the horse has bolted.

You need the jabs in arms before the area becomes the hot spot.

Crowtooyo · 04/06/2021 18:34

Glad I'm not the only one 🙂

I think it has been a longer wait for us!
Never mind. I'm hopeful for next week (but thought that this week too!)

DD's doctor surgery are quoting on their website that they'll be texting 18+ mid June, fingers crossed.

Howyoualldoworkme · 05/06/2021 21:23

My son is 28 and the surgery called him on Thursday, he gets jabbed on Wednesday.
Hampshire, we seem to be speeding through down here!

irregularegular · 05/06/2021 21:26

My 18 yr old was vaccinated through local surgery this week. Some areas are slightly ahead.

Wilkolampshade · 06/06/2021 11:09

My DD2, 19, at Uni in London getting 1st today. Pop up clinic in West London.
Meanwhile DD1, 21 years, at Uni in Edinburgh has no sign yet...
Can only imagine how frustrating it is for those significantly older 😕

callmemaybee · 06/06/2021 11:12

I’m 23 with zero health issues and haven’t been called in at all. I am a keyworker and could get it via my employer if I wanted to though. No one my age has got the vaccine unless they have health issues or are keyworkers.

Missypuff30 · 06/06/2021 23:31

Matt Hancock has said on TV this morning that under 30s will start this week. Not sure if that means in increments still or opened to 18+. Hoping increments still, as the system will just be overloaded otherwise!

DeathByWalkies · 07/06/2021 01:40

My local healthboard announced it had offered a first dose to everyone over 18 by the end of May. I'm 30 and my second dose is this week. I was a bit confused by the news story that the under 30s are now eligible...

Don't worry, it is a bit confusing. But nationally, the age is still at 30 plus. But in some areas they have worked through the age groups quicker. This is for various reason for example, less people in the higher age groups, maybe more refusers, more capacity etc... so they've been able to.push.forward with the next group

Missypuff30 · 07/06/2021 08:58

@Crowtooyo yep, my GP hasn't moved down past 30 yet in my area so in line with the national booking currently. I live in a city with high uptake.

DeathByWalkies · 07/06/2021 09:20

Just checked and 67% of people aged 18-29 in my local authority have already been jabbed once, and the overall vaccination rate isn't low either
