Anyone else impatient?! They were on a roll a few weeks back, dropping by 2 years every couple of days but it's now been 2 weeks on age 30.
I'm 28!
Wales seem well ahead, and I'm sure other places are.
Just impatient and waiting 😀 hoping we are soon!

Waiting for DS1 age 25 and a teacher to get his chance. The national website still says 30+
DS2 23 got his months ago because he works for the NHS even though he works from home Hmm

MaloInAnAppleTree · 07/06/2021 11:01

Wales is different to England/Scotland/NI DeathByWalkies - you’ve run at a super-fast pace by using a more punchy just-in-time allocation and it’s worked out very well.

Willowkins · 07/06/2021 11:48

It's great to hear that the under 30s are going to be offered the jab but I won't believe it until I see it. DC is off to college today. It's horrible hearing him coughing away at night with his asthma and if he got Covid that would be so much worse. I've not heard anything from the GP about his eligibility. I'll give it a few more days and then try again.

Crowtooyo · 07/06/2021 12:39

@Willowkins would he not have been eligible due to health conditions?

To be honest, I'm hoping they release slots in groups of 2 years like they did for the 30s. I think if they suddenly allow all over 18s to book then we may be waiting months!

Just booked my 29 year old husband through the national system!

ApolloandDaphne · 07/06/2021 12:44

@Wilkolampshade

My DD2, 19, at Uni in London getting 1st today. Pop up clinic in West London. Meanwhile DD1, 21 years, at Uni in Edinburgh has no sign yet... Can only imagine how frustrating it is for those significantly older 😕
@Wilkolampshade Young people age 18-29 in Scotland can register for the jab. Has your DD done this? I've copied the info that came from our uni:

Good news! This week, the Scottish Government is now allowing 18-29 year olds to register for a vaccine!

Registration takes just 5 to 10 minutes and will simply require your date of birth, name, address, gender identity (optional) and Community Health Index (CHI) number (optional).

Once registered, you will be contacted by phone or email with an appointment in the coming weeks. If you are not currently at the address where you are registered with your GP, there is a helpline that will allow you to change the location of your appointment.

It is likely that you will receive either the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine or the Moderna vaccine. Both vaccines are safe and effective and you can find out more about them on the NHS Inform website.

It is so important for us all to get the vaccine if we can, so please sign up! Having as many people vaccinated as possible is the only way we can start to see life return to something which looks a lot more like normal.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/06/2021 12:49

What is really frustrating is that in some areas gp surgeries have opted out of supporting the vaccine program and in those areas everyone is stuck at the 30+ in England and struggling to make appointments. In other areas where the gps are on board, they seem to be generally steaming ahead.

If dd lived here, she would have the vaccine by now. In her university town, they haven touched anyone less than 30 unless they fell into other categories.

Wilkolampshade · 07/06/2021 12:56

@ApolloandDaphne thank you yes, she's all signed up, as is everyone she knows thank goodness but no word on how this translates to a timetable. She's just finished finals and they're leaving their flat end of June (sad times!) I think she might be better off registering ASAP with a GP this end and stealing a march on it now....

@Crowtooyo keep trying today as I think they load them up ready for release the next day based on the 30+ releases

Crowtooyo · 07/06/2021 13:11

I will do, thank you 😊 going to try whenever I get the chance today

Just tried for 25 year old DS even though it still says 30+. It says "You are not currently eligible to book through this service"
pissface · 07/06/2021 14:08

I have mine tomorrow, I'm 28, got the text 2 weeks ago!

Missypuff30 · 07/06/2021 15:56

@Hax I've just seen a post on Simple Politics FB that says it's opening up to 25 to 29 year olds tomorrow, so you might be able to book for your DS by the end of the day (as they load everyone on)

National front page has changed to 25 and over, or turning 25 before July 👍

NewIdeasToday · 08/06/2021 08:52

My son can’t book in despite the change this morning. Has anyone aged 25 to 29 successfully booked this morning?

ApolloandDaphne · 08/06/2021 08:53

My 28yo DD has booked this morning to get hers tomorrow.

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 08/06/2021 08:57

It's dropped to 25 in England today but my 25 year old ds has just sat in a queue of over 8000 this morning trying to book online but when he finally got in it said he wasn't eligible. Has anyone else had the same?

ValenciaOrange · 08/06/2021 09:41

They seem to be loading people in batches. My 28 year old son was able to book during the night but his 25 year old sister couldn't until half an hour ago.
I think if you keep trying you'll be able to at some point today.

Hax · 08/06/2021 10:33

I got DS booked this morning. He tried before he went to work but couldn't get on the site and messaged me to ask If I would keep trying.
I eventually got through and it said he wasn't eligable - he's 25.
Tried again and it let me book.
He's in tomorrow!

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 08/06/2021 13:26

My 25 year old Ds tried again at lunchtime and is now booked for next Tuesday, I think there was a blip with some of the data not being uploaded until mid-morning but it seems okay now.

Willowkins · 08/06/2021 13:42

Crowtooyo he absolutely should get the vaccine due to health conditions. It has to be severe asthma which, according to government website, means certain types of medication or a hospital visit ever. However, to get an invitation, he needs approval by his GP who has apparently discounted his previous hospital visits. Even so, we were fine to wait for his age group until I was driving him to the hospital at 1am in the morning and the doctor there told us he had to have a vaccination. Explained all this to the GP Receptionist to be told he's still not eligible. We need to follow up to find out the results of the GP's review but my PTSD (reasons for that on another thread) is kicking in and it's really difficult.

Are there no walk-in vaccination clinics near you? The ones near me generally do not seem to have time to mull over people's age. They just want people vaccinated and out. Granted I was indeed eligible when I had my jab at a walk-in clinic, I know of some younger people who had there's.
