Positive LFT negative PCR

How common is this? I have symptoms, LFT show a positive result but my PCR was negative.

Household isolated as per government guidelines until my PCR results came back but the whole thing is so confusing. I still have symptoms, 3 LFT show a positive.

Are false positives common with LFT's? I have been doing them regularly since January as i work in hospitals and this has been the only time I got positive results. DH tested out of the same batch and was negative, so not a dodgy batch of tests.

DH had to take two days unpaid from work so he's less than impressed with the whole thing (aren't we all?)

I have symptoms and another positive LFT. This is confusing

The PCR test is the most reliable. You should trust that one.

Definitely go by the positive not the negative and get another PCR!

I'm going with the result of the PCR, as they're most reliable. I just can't believe the false positives and how unreliable LFT are.

You aren’t meant to use a LFT with symptoms. Go by the PCR and stop testing. Other illnesses except Covid still exist.

About a 1/3rd of all symptomless LFT positives are false at the current stats, so it's pretty common.

It's much less likely to be false if you're in an area with high prevalence etc.
