Covid infection twice?

anappleadaykeeps · 01/06/2021 16:58

Has anyone here had Covid twice, and was the second time milder or more severe?

And has anyone had Covid after having had it previously, and having had one jab.

Just wondering - there isn't much about it in the press, and people here seem to be using previous infection as 'no need to worry', even though there has been an outbreak locally.

I'm feeling very nerdy for still trying to stick to the rules, even though I have still cut a few corners. But everyone else seems to have given up.

A friend who is a teacher had it twice within 6 months, very poorly second time. Bed bound for days. No lasting effects

My friend’s exh had it twice, Apr-20 then Jan-21. He is a surgeon so at risk but asymptomatic both times.

My pal has had it twice (both confirmed with test) the first time two days of mild headache the second bit hard for a week.
9 months apart.
Not vaxxed had to cancel first jab because she had covid.

I suspect I had it early last year then I have a confirmed positive this April . I’d had the first vaccine when I caught it in April . I don’t think it’s people giving up I think people are just trying to get on with life . For what’s it worth at the time it was still lockdown and I was wfh not seen anyone because caught it off dc who hadn’t seen anyone except go to work . So you can be careful and still catch it so that’s why I’m not supportive of any more restrictions it’s gone on long enough and now we have people with anxiety that worry they will catch it and yes you can but unless you aren’t going anywhere and I mean anywhere even work and the supermarket there is a chance so for me take care but live life .

Had it 3 times. First in bed for 3 months, not tested as there was none. The second I didn't know I had it, but the kitten was 4 days on a drip for it, so I got tested and the third 7 months later, was ill for about 5 days, then recovered.

@Tootsey11 - wow sounds like you’ve been very unlucky. Glad you’re ok!

Two work colleagues (teachers) have both had it twice and both much worse the second time, one in particular hugely suffering still from the effects of long Covid. Both had been vaccinated (first jab) when they got it the second time.
