BBC and weird adverts

Watching it earlier and first was an ad by the government about a Scottish woman opening the windows even though it was cold as she had friends round

This was followed by another ad with the men from that Irish comedy programme dancing around singing and shouting telling us the lockdown is ending.

Bit confusing. Maybe they should just leave the adverts..

What's confusing about opening the windows when we have an airborne pandemic? Unless you've enjoyed the last 15 months obviously.

Well, it was the opposite in each ad?

The second one contradicted the first one. Seemed a bit daft. Never mind.

I haven't seen the adverts, but isn't it things like opening windows that we need even more now that we're meeting up indoors, so lockdowns don't come back?

Lockdown ending isn't a sign that covid has gone, just that we think we can manage it without the most extreme measures like lockdowns - it means it's even more important to use alternative precautions like ventilation, because that's all we've got left.

It sounds like maybe the second advert was misleading, if it implied that no lockdown means no need to be careful any more full stop.
