Alcohol after vaccine?

Am I ok to have alcohol this evening after getting my Pfizer Covid vaccine today?

I had a few alcoholic drinks after mine 2 weeks ago (AZ). I had plenty of ice in my vodka to aid my hydration 🤣

I don’t know I had the AZ today and was just fancying a nice cold lager.
Will be watching eagerly for replies 😬

I think the only reason they advise against it is because if you report certain symptoms it might be the alcohol consumption that has caused it, not the vaccination. I think that's what I heard a doctor saying on R4

Yes I had some the night before and straight after.

If like me you had completely forgotten by the evening that you were given the vaccination that morning, you just go ahead and have a glass of wine as you usually would!

A consultant gave mine and he told me to go home and have some wine to relax

Two glasses of Prosecco and a large wine here - absolutely fine!

I think it’s to give your immune system the optimum chance to work. Probably more than one drink would be best avoided.

Oh dear I have no chance then, I had about 3 drinks after mine

When I had my 1st one a few weeks ago I told the nurse I was very nervous of getting injections and after it was done he told me to go home and have some wine as my reward so I would say you will be fine! 2nd jab is on my birthday so ill definitely be partaking that evening too 🥂

I wasn't told not to, I think I had a glass or two of wine that evening. I had AZ with no major side effects.

I think a drink or two would be fine but side effects + hangover = no fun at all!

I was told avoid caffeine and drink lots of water, no mention of alcohol

I had 2 find after my jab today as a friend came round to sit in the garden. Didn't have enough alcohol to feel drunk and I don't get hangovers from gin anyway.

My DP had a few beers after his pfizer last week

I had Pfizer today and I'm having a few drinks tonight.
