I'm struggling with why this is happening?
1000s of Police, security TV crews and thats just from around the UK.
Add in 1000s more from around the globe.

Meanwhile European countries are adding more restrictions and testing criteria to UK citizens fully vaccinated who wish to travel

Should the G7 go ahead?

It should not go ahead as an in-person event in my opinion.

No but they’re superior to us so will come and not isolated

The virus will know that they are all very important at there oh so important event at which us normal people are allowed anywhere near is so important that the virus will know not to go there.

Agree, sadly. We are just in the period where we should be focusing on the vaccines and trying to outrun the variant.

But same as footballers. Hope the Eurocopa footballers follow the same restrictions that I’ll have to go through when I fly back from visiting my family abroad

We don't want or need this, Cornwall has been very fortunate in terms of Cv infections and we've litle in the way of healthcare.

Johnson has learnt loads from the pandemic.

Most importantly that he can get away with giving his mates millions of pounds of taxpayers money for doing nothing and people will still go on voting for him.

I can't believe that Olympics and the Euros are going ahead as well! Seems very disjointed the thinking behind so much of this.

Cornwall full to gills with Uk visitors thousands of delegates, security, police et al in a small place with Johnson in charge what could possibly go wrong.

Shouldn’t go ahead IMO. We’ve been very fortunate in Cornwall with Covid rates, in addition we have an extremely stretched police force as it is, where now high numbers are having to cover G7. And one main hospital that can’t cope at the best of times. Despise Boris Johnson.

Not really enamoured of the idea of my police officer DH being summoned across the other side of the country when his force won't even arrange vaccines for them. What could possibly go wrong?

It's outrageous that G7 proceed in person.
I am so that UK govt think in-person G7 will not be PR disaster.
We can't go see our relatives overseas but diplomat massive entourages can waltz in & out of countries. WTAF.

Oh, and India are invited as guests to G7. Their huge entourage. You can't make it up.

Olympics I have no objections to proceeding. However, 70% of Japanese don't want Olympics/Paralympics to happen -- seems wrong to go against that majority.

As someone going through cancer treatment at Cornwall's one small overstretched hospital at the moment - no it shouldn't be going ahead here. We have (thankfully) very low covid rates here currently but the influx of normal summer visitors will threaten that; add in the strain to the systems of the G7 and we could see some really shitty consequences for those of us just trying to get on with our lives down here. No covid cases in the hospital last week when I was an inpatient but they were absolutely straining at the seams already.

I think its criminal, people will die (not that he cares) because of this decision but Cornwall voted in all conservative MPs so they have got what they wanted.

I hope one day Johnson goes to jail for what he has done.
