How long are vaccination side effects lasting?

Most likely be AZ that dp will get (42). First dose. Probably should have had it a few weeks ago but he's been nervous about it. He also scheduled and cancelled one app as I was poorly then has rescheduled again.

He's booked in soon but exactly a week after he's due on jury service. Are side effects generally gone within a week after jab??

He's tried to make it earlier but barely any availability.

He'll be fine by the time his jury service starts right?!

He could try cancelling and seeing if there's any availability closer but risking making app even later if there's nothing available (he's also limited due to working long hours)

I got AZ and had a sore upper arm for a few days. Still did my gym classes. Dh had AZ also and had no side effects at all

Not know anyone feel bad for more than a couple days. I felt absolutely horrendous for 24 hours, but was fine after that, just a sore arm. DP was fine, just a sore arm.

Horrendous for less than 24 hours. The next day full of beans and then a few days of tired / mild cold symptoms

I felt kind of “off” for a couple of weeks!
First day I felt as if I’d been heavily drinking the night before; after that I was fine but didn’t feel right (felt like my arms and legs didn’t belong to me?!) and felt mildly hungover.

Nothing unmanageable though, I went into work the day after (a lot of us got it in the same day so that was not a good day!) and continued work/going to the gym etc as usual.

Sore arm lasted the longest, and I had a bruise pop up over a week later!

I think he’ll probably be okay before jury service, don’t worry Smile

I had my vaccine at 11am on the Thursday. The chills started at 10pm and I just couldn't wait to get into bed and try to warm up. Then I got a horrendous migraine which lasted until late Saturday afternoon. I managed to get up when it started improving and I had a shower but was exhausted after it. The extreme fatigue lasted about a week but no more than that.

I felt tired for a few days, had a bit of a sore arm, and a HORRENDOUS period. No chills or fever though. A week on I’m more or less fine. I don’t think your DH will have the same problem as me!

Thanks all. I've actually had both AZ doses myself. But I had little to no side effects with the first. With my second I felt extremely tired for a few days and headaches which were more likely to be tension headaches from anxiety rather than the vaccine itself! I'm sure he'll be fine!

24-36 hour 'flu like symptoms and a sore arm for a week. Nothing horrendous.

Jabbed on Saturday lunchtime; a slow weekend on paracetamol/ibuprofen and fine (apart from a tender left arm) by Monday morning.
