Hi all

I have pretty awful asthma and was previously put into group 6. I have since been informed I should have been CEV from the start.

I wfh and had my second vaccine today. I assume that is more than enough

I think it's the best there is currently.

Livpool · 22/05/2021 22:19

Thanks. I feel like I have been extremely lucky to wfh. Good job I haven't had to go
Into a supermarket every day!

But shielding has finished. At least you have had a full vaccine now. Who told you?

PrincessNutNuts · 22/05/2021 22:41

I've been telling my parents to enjoy this time while Shielding is paused again, but not to do anything indoors with anyone if they can help it.

You've had your jabs, you're being careful, that's all anyone can do.

Livpool · 22/05/2021 22:44

@LIZS I had an email
And letter from go/NHS

Who is telling you this and for what benefit?

thecatwithnoeyes · 22/05/2021 22:45

Cross posted!

I wonder why they are telling you now, I suppose in case it all goes up again and they have to reintroduce shielding?

Kyph · 23/05/2021 09:21

As someone who is CEV and shielded until it ended in march I am shielding no longer. I have had two doses of vaccine and that has to be enough. I am now going out, meeting people indoors and trying to get my life back.

I read yesterday that 49% of people who were shielding have continued to shield. There will be some for whom the vaccine has reduced effect but the vast majority are as "safe" as everyone else.

HildegardNightingale · 23/05/2021 17:20

Ha ha. I received a letter telling me I am CEV 3 weeks ago. I’ve worked in a Nightingale Hospital and am currently working in a vaccination centre. I’m double vaccinated now so will continue to jab people. You couldn’t make it up, could you.

Ponoka7 · 23/05/2021 20:00

I am ECV and was told to shield from the start. I couldn't as I'm my DD's childcare. She is a work based key worker. I have to take public transport. There's many ECV who've also had to carry on. It will be enough, only the very old and frail are dying.
