Just curious to how different both doses are.
I had my first yesterday (15 weeks pg) and had diarrhoea, sickness and a racing heart last night.

Would be interesting to see if second reactions are worse or better.

I’ve only had my first and was a bit tired/shivery for a few days. Someone I know had a much worse reaction for their second jab, but it’s all anecdotal. She works in a hospital and the pattern seemed to be that people who have had covid reacted more strongly to the first jab and people who hadn’t had a stronger reaction to the second jab. A friend who has had covid had a horrible reaction to the first jab (but that was AZ). It’s all speculation though. I’m hoping it won’t be too bad second time - I haven’t (knowingly) had covid.

Sisisimone · 22/05/2021 09:07

I've had Covid and had no side effects whatsoever to the first Pfizer. Still awaiting 2nd jab. I know about 20 people that have had both Pfizer jabs and none of them had any side effects to either.

EvilOnion · 22/05/2021 09:11

I had first in January, second in April.

#1 I had a rally sure arm for about 8 hours the following day, I couldn't lift it above shoulder height because the muscle felt so tight.
Swollen glands a week later but gone within a day.

#2 I was just ridiculously tired for about 5 days.

25 of is in my work received Pfizer and most of our experiences were the exact same.

Everyone in my family has had Pfizer. Dh was poorly with both doses - flu like symptoms, as was sil. Dm had achy arm for first and flu like symptoms for about a week after second. Dd had sore arm for first and fine for second. DB and I both had first this week and neither of us had a single side effect, wouldn't have even know we'd had it. It's completely different for each person.

ChelseaChop · 22/05/2021 09:50

I had no side effects on first dose of Pfizer

Mentioned to friend who is a Dr and she said people react much worse the second dose of Pfizer

It’s the other way around for AZ. No idea why!

Addicted2Sugar · 22/05/2021 09:53

I have had my second and had no reaction to either of them. Barely had a sore arm from the second. I did take paracetamol after both jabs as advised by a nurse friend but was fine.

PaleGreenAndBrightOrange · 22/05/2021 09:55

Just had my first Pfizer vaccine last week - no reaction at all so far, just a slightly sore arm.

Rushhomeroad · 22/05/2021 09:57

Mild headache with first, just a sore arm with the second.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 22/05/2021 11:31

I had no reaction whatsoever to my first - apart from a coin sized tender patch at the injection site. It lasted a day.

Second one on a Wednesday morning. Had a funny dizzy spell about 4 or 5 hours later. Extremely sore arm on Thursday, but still went swimming. By Friday I had a banging headache and felt like crap. No temp. Felt crap until about Monday. Not enough to be off work or anything though.

There was a difference in the actual injection itself though. I didn't feel the first one at all - wondered if I'd had it! Second one I felt much more obviously - that burning injection feeling. So maybe some of it was down to position of jab and injector.

I was in bed all weekend both times with a high temperature. Probably had Covid last year. Got a racing heart rate straight after jab both times, second time had to stay back at the centre because it was a proper reaction, very high blood pressure. If you are pregnant I would mention it to the doctor and get your blood pressure checked out, just to be safe. My reaction was worse the second time.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 22/05/2021 12:00

1st just felt like I’d been punched in the arm about 12 hours after.
2nd felt ok on the day but then felt achy and tired for about 3~4 days after.

WyldStallions · 22/05/2021 12:02

1st - sore arm
2nd - sore arm, mild headache second day, sore armpit (gland?) for about 5 days.

Stilltalkstotrees · 22/05/2021 12:05

1st = sore arm for 2 days

2nd = sore arm for 4 days (slightly inflamed)

Nothing else - continued as usual, running, etc.

ILookAtTheFloor · 22/05/2021 12:06

Mine was the same both times.

Sore arm, felt a bit tired.

Beebumble2 · 22/05/2021 13:07

1st one left me tired with a headache for 24 hrs. The second one seemed fine, but 12 hrs later I woke up feeling really nauseous, very tired, but had to get up because of the nausea. Sat up for about 2hrs, when it has passed.

Girlmama3 · 22/05/2021 13:43

Interesting, thank you all. I’ve got a midwife appointment on Monday so will have bp taken then. Maybe I’ll borrow my dads bp machine for when I have my next one.

No one seems to have a reaction to this one like the AZ. My dp was shaking uncontrollably, sweating and felt awful for a few days.
