False negative?

My partner had a covid test on Monday, he seemed ok but a bit tired but he had a positive LFT so he had a PCR and yesterday the result was negative. Anyway, yesterday he woke up with a cough and slept most of the day as he didn't feel very well. Today he's still not well as he's coughing a lot, has a headache, is still very tired as also has a fever.

So could the negative have been a false? Normally with a cold, he's fine and he doesn't normally sleep.

Could be a false negative. Maybe take another test to check
