They are free on the NHS and about £99 for the private ones

If for travel tui are doing lft and a pcr for £20 pp

I am vaxxed x 2 but will still need to PCR to get in and out of Ireland.

My mother has been diagnosed for the second time and I will need to travel back and forth in order to pull my weight in the looking after her stakes.

The money is not important per se, but if I can get them at a reasonable price, then so much the better. I don't want to be paying mad money to pay for someone private jet. IYKWIM

Yes I think so. I think they give you a code with the booking.

I could find ones local to me for £99, I'm hoping to find cheaper though as my husband is planning a day trip to Portugal for the football.ConfusedShock

Watapalava · 16/05/2021 14:38

Yes they are I think

I expect others will follow suit

I’m guessing many will book packages general cos money is safer so I imagine operators will sort it by end of May when lost of us will want to start booking

Watapalava · 16/05/2021 14:40

Oh missed ur update

I believe the going rate is £50 as Boris threatened companies that if they didn’t half costs then they’d take them off the provider liat

Where do you live? We live quite near to Stansted and therefore use their testing service as it is super efficient and results come through swiftly and in a format approved for travel at a reasonable cost. It is worth checking for places where you can physically go for a test than ones that rely on you posting in specific post boxes back to labs.

Unfortunately so far there is one provider doing this for the day 2 and 8 for £99 so in effect £50 each.

@SeasonFinale

I am in Surrey so LGW and LHR, but Stansted not impossible.

Thank you.

Thanks for that. That certainly is very useful.

About 30p in materials. If done at decent scale, a few pounds for the scientists time.

But this is the U.K., so you’ll be charged whatever some private provider can get away with.
