Astrazeneca - get second dose now or wait for 12 weeks?

I'm eligible to book my second jab next week when it will be 8 weeks after my first dose. Is there any up to date information about the added protection after 12 weeks? With the new variant I'd be keen to get fully jabbed but if waiting an extra 4 weeks would give a meaningful increase in protection might it be better to wait.

In case it helps, I'm 49, no underlying risks, WFH, am being cautious so not at high risk of catching it through my own lifestyle, but do share a house with teens who study and socialise and travel.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts or any data you can point me to!

There was discussion about this on the daily data thread that was helpful, so may be worth looking back a few days on the current thread.

Personally I 'm sticking with my original 2nd appointment (can't see how I will be forced into an earlier one) but that is for my own personal logistical reasons as much as anything.

Thank you, I'll take a look on the other thread!
