DH has been called by GP surgery for his second dose of AZ next week. That will be 5 weeks after his first dose. I have seen some posts recently saying you get better protection with a gap of at least 8 weeks between doses, but I'm not sure how much difference that makes. I am also wondering whether any benefit from leaving a longer gap is outweighed by the risk of contracting Covid before being fully vaccinated. Though our personal circumstances put us at relatively low risk, we live an area with Covid rates well above the national average.
