Priti Patel gets her Moderna vaccine

Can’t help but wonder why she didn’t get hers when first called? She’s 49, she should have hers a month ago.
Also how come she got the Moderna jab, maybe she knows something the rest of us in our 40s don’t know about the AZ!!!!! Can’t help but resent the fact she’s managed to have the Moderna!

A work colleague who had her first jab a couple of weeks ago had the Moderna jab. It is probably widely given now.

If you are to have any resentment to her, it is that after cases of bullying seemed proven, the Prime Minister did not dismiss her.

MN is full of people going to Guys to ensure moderna, so presumably Patel has also gone down this road.

Didn't Matt Hancock, Keir Starmer and Boris Johnson all get the AZ - so if PP does know something she's not letting on to the others

Honestly don't mind what vaccination she had.

I'm in Essex and its switched to moderna in quite a few places here.

I know plenty of people who are 49 who haven’t had their vaccination yet.

Moderna and Pfizer have been available for all age groups for a while, just need to book at a place administering them. Anyone eligible to book can go to Guy's hospital for theirs.

Agree about the timing though, all the other prominent ministers have had theirs as soon as their age group was eligible to book. But maybe she had a reason to wait, who knows.

Oh please do not be ridiculous. Most people do not know what they are going to get. Politicians are humans too so she probably was waiting for more data to decide to get the vaccine or not. The research data is available to all us.

She had one of the three vaccines available. It's literally as simple as that. No reason to resent her getting moderna as you would with anyone else getting it.

Really do not know how people have time for this.

Much as I despise the woman and 99% of all Tory MPs, I'm not that fussed about this.

Perhaps she had enough going on a month ago that she didn't want to risk a couple of days feeling like crap at that time? Or she had her first jab earlier and this was actually the second, but doesn't want to reveal any medical indications for her actually qualifying for the Moderna version earlier than the standard timescale? She's a woman in a high risk group for Diabetes and is a little overweight, after all - I'm almost the same age and had my vaccine 12 weeks ago as a high risk group, but didn't need the Moderna/Pfizer because my allergies aren't that severe.

She's had a vaccine. That's what counts.

There could be a whole myriad of perfectly valid reasons why she didn’t have it sooner. Not everything has a surreptitious motive.

My brothers in his 40s he got Moderna.

I'm in my 40s I got Novavax you may not have heard of it , but you will by june/july

Moderna is the poor man’s Pfizer anyway.
