I had the AZ on Monday afternoon,I started to feel head achy and shivering despite burning up that night in bed..didnt sleep and spent the whole of tuesday in bed, sleeping and sweating!
Wednesday I went back to work and felt ok just a slight head ache and tired
However today I am really struggling,if I do anything slightly physical I am out of breath
I am 43,do a active job and work out usually 6 days a week so this is very unlike me.
I had to walk up the hill to my house earlier which I do sometimes daily and today had to stop half way up as I just could not walk any further and I was panting for breath
I am now starting to worry...is this a bad sign?
Or just a side effect that will go away soon?
Did anyone else feel this way?
Keep reading about seeing the doctor if experiencing breathing difficulties but do not want to overreact to a side effect lots of other people have had.

I'd call the doctor myself Flowers

I would call the doctor. I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine but with the very small risk of a blood clot it's best to be safe and get checked out Flowers

charliebear78 · 13/05/2021 14:38

I messaged my partner saying I felt like this and he rang the docs who said they have no availability today and if I am concerned to go to urgent care!
So looks like I will wait and see..I do not feel like I need to go to urgent care at all and the doctors are obviously not to concerned.

Speak to GP and I'd get a test too. Better to be on the safe side and the Zoe study says it helps to understand side effects better when they can rule out nasty ones as being caused by actual covid.

I’m sure there will be another explanation but please head to urgent care to get checked out, as breathlessness is one of the signs they advise you to look out for after AZ as it can be a sign of a clot. There could be many other explanations and causes of this but please push to be fully checked out to exclude this very small possibility. I hope you feel better soon Flowers

@charliebear78
Future to my above post here’s a link from the European Medical Agency who regulate vaccinations in Europe listing when you should ‘seek medical assistance immediately’ after the AZ vaccination and the list includes breathlessness. If you’re brushed off in the same way as your GP did then show them the link

www.ema.europa.eu/en/news/astrazenecas-covid-19-vaccine-ema-finds-possible-link-very-rare-cases-unusual-blood-clots-low-blood

I hope all is well and it’s unlikely to be a clot but needs checking out just in case Flowers

Further even!

Lockupyourbiscuits · 13/05/2021 19:29

Call 111 for an assessment and they can arrange for you to be seen in A and E and be properly evaluated
If there is a delay or they fob you off just head to A and E yourself
New onset breathlessness should be checked out - it is better to do this at an emergency department rather than urgent care ( unless it’s attached to an emergency department)

Rainbowsandstorms · 13/05/2021 22:52

Good advice from @Lockupyourbiscuits I hope you’ve been able to be assessed and everything is ok.
