Have they increased the age over a weekend before or is it normally a weekday? Just wondering if it might be another couple of days gap before 32+ get invited. I'm hoping maybe tomorrow or Monday. Desperately want to get me and bump vaccinated!

FeedMeSantiago · 21/05/2021 11:21

I'm a few days shy of 33 and am checking regularly now the website is open to 34 year olds. I'm hoping it will extend to 33 year olds (or 32 and 33 year olds) early next week.

I had a dream the other night where I was given the moderna vaccine. It was surprisingly vivid so clearly I am desperate for my vaccine Grin

WombatChocolate · 21/05/2021 12:13

I don’t think it will happen over weekend. They need to update and add lots of data to allow more to be jabbed so tend to do it on weekdays.

alabakaja · 21/05/2021 13:44

I'm 33, checked earlier today and I couldn't book, checked again just now and I can. Could get very close jab on Thursday this week but decided drive an hour so I can get it tomorrow instead. Very happy and relieved.

nika1988 · 21/05/2021 13:53

33, but still not eligible, just looked 😔

lurker101 · 21/05/2021 13:58

Thanks @alabakaja just got our 33 yr old sorted (SE)

MapleBee · 21/05/2021 15:50

Do more centres come up at the weekend? Still can’t get one anywhere near me.

FeedMeSantiago · 21/05/2021 15:59

Booked!! Yay. DH was lucky and got a local vaccine this weekend but although I was barely a few seconds after him availability had gone so I have to wait a few more days for an appointment during the week.

SandwichDistraction · 21/05/2021 16:00

I’ve been regularly checking this thread. I’m 33 and just managed to book. Soonest I could get was 2nd June but that will do me!

Cavette · 21/05/2021 16:19

34 and just had mine. Now trying the website for DSis (33) but still not letting her book

mateysmum · 21/05/2021 16:32

@89redballoons if you're going to Taunton Racecourse they ask you if you are there for your 1st or 2nd and direct you separately. I had my 2nd AZ there earlier this week. All very quick and efficient.

And I got a sticker!

Tinks177 · 21/05/2021 18:02

32 and finally able to book, been checking all day!

JC17fj74 · 21/05/2021 19:28

32 and can book!
Can anyone tell me if you get and different vaccines in the pharmacy's?
Will it still be Pfizer for under 40s?
Is there any negative to going to a pharmacy and not a big hub?
Thanks!

Lockheart · 21/05/2021 19:37

@Tinks177 and @JC17fj74 did you book yours through the main NHS website? I'm 32 and it's still saying over 34s only for me.

JC17fj74 · 21/05/2021 19:52

It's letting me book first one and then saying no appointments for the second at the same place, does anyone know if you book somewhere else can you amend the venue or cancel it after if a closer site comes up?

EasterIssland · 21/05/2021 19:55

@JC17fj74 I booked mine in March for coming Monday. I cancelled this weekend and booked on a boots pharmacy for Wednesday which was az. You can cancel after your 1st. And then search for a new place

Tinks177 · 21/05/2021 20:25

Yes, just put my NHS number in and it let me book. One minute it wouldn't let me and the next it would so keep trying.

Seems a bit crazy that you have to cancel your appointment before you can look and see if there's anything more suitable. Is this the case even if you ring them?

TedHastingsweeDonkey · 21/05/2021 20:39

Thank you! Just been able to book mine too.

DH got his today, he was told that you should automatically be directed to a centre that has a vaccination appropriate for your age. Ie. No Astra for under 40s. Fingers crossed!

carlywurly · 21/05/2021 20:56

Just cancelled and rebooked my second - it brought it forward a month and to a much more convenient venue. Smile

We're you not terrified you'd be left with a worse location or date?!
PennyV13 · 21/05/2021 23:04

Has anyone else got their second vaccine at a different location? I don't want to cancel in case I can't get another within the 12 weeks but a quick Google suggests you should be having both at the same site.

I haven’t had my first yet (booked for a few days’ time), but it does ask you if you want to have both at the same place so you must be able to book somewhere else for your second.
Lockheart · 21/05/2021 23:28

I've booked mine! Thank you :)

When I was booking I was asked if I wanted my second at the same place so I assume having them at different centres is an option.

Runwayqueen · 21/05/2021 23:37

I'm having mine tomorrow morning. I am extremely needle phobic and have had a traumatic week after 8 failed cannulations (dental sedation appointment). Will I be allowed to take dp for support? I know every centre is different, but just wondered if I may be able to take him.

Yes you can.
