How quickly have they got through the under 40s invites so far? If feels like new ages have been added daily but not sure if that's accurate. Just trying to guess when I might be able to book (aged 32).

juneybean · 19/05/2021 20:09

Jul 85 here and got an invite link from my gp via text message and booked in within 2 days for pfizer.

springhasalmostsprung · 19/05/2021 20:18

@juneybean this is my hope that my GP will suddenly get in touch!

38/39 opened this time last week (officially last Thursday morning) so it's been pretty quick so far!
ferretface · 19/05/2021 20:24

@Tinks177 seems to have been opening to a new 2 year band every few days. Fingers crossed that you (and everyone else who is younger and keen to be vaccinated!) is able to book soon :)

HarrietOh · 19/05/2021 20:57

I’ve got back on this evening and now slots have appeared for tomorrow! So got booked for tomorrow evening.

AzkabanPrison · 19/05/2021 21:00

Dp (dec 85) just booked for his on NHS website!

springhasalmostsprung · 19/05/2021 21:11

I've booked mine, got scared that they'll open up to the younger ages and I'll have to wait ages.
Now I'm panicking because the date of the second one is 11 weeks and 6 days after the first.... cutting it fine Confused

YorkshireGirl35 · 19/05/2021 21:16

Feb 85 and just keep getting the message to say that I’m not eligible yet, very frustrating!

AdventureIsWaiting · 19/05/2021 21:27

1987 here. Just booked on national site, no text from GP. It wouldn't let me book earlier today. Loads of availability including tomorrow.

Dancingalong · 19/05/2021 21:35

Dec 1986, just booked on the NHS site, it wouldn’t let me earlier today.

I'm also 32 and waiting for our turn to come around! Hope it hurries up!
SweatyAmy · 19/05/2021 21:50

Also 32 and waiting. A friend born Jan '86 was able to book in the North West this afternoon.

springhasalmostsprung · 19/05/2021 22:09

Has anyone under 40 turned up for their vaccine only to find it's actually only AZ being done there?

I've just heard from a friend that this happens to her 37 yr old friend who booked through the NHS site Hmm

I was worried that there might be the odd one on the system that would get through. When did her friend book? I could book the night before the bookings officially opened to the 38-39 age group, but sites for AZ only were still coming up so I waited until the next morning, when they stopped appearing. I wanted to wait until the system had fully updated.

I then checked on a local Facebook page to make sure they are doing Pfizer at my vaccine hub.

wendz86 · 19/05/2021 22:53

I just checked and got through - Oct 86 but going to try again tomorrow to see if any more nearer places available .

springhasalmostsprung · 20/05/2021 06:46

@DixonD I'm not sure when they booked, but quite possibly before it officially changed to 38-39, that would make sense.

I thought I might try calling mine today just to make sure.

Phew! I won't be turned away!
springhasalmostsprung · 20/05/2021 07:38

@StCharlotte thank you, I checked the Facebook page for the village my test sites in and someone had already asked 👍🏻

onemorenumber · 20/05/2021 08:55

Am I right in thinking it doesn't matter which jab you get if you have an allergy, as long as you book for a hospital vaccination site?

BigGreen · 20/05/2021 09:30

I had moderna at Guy's 1 yesterday (in case anyone has an appointment and is curious). It took about 50 mins in total to queue and then wait 15m afterwards.

Wetdogloveshubert · 20/05/2021 10:31

These appointments seem to get snapped up quicker than pants in a primarni sale. I've been trying since 7.30 to book and the closest appointments are about 30 miles away!

Me and my partner got a text about this (live in Richmond) last week, and both ended up having the Pfizer jab yesterday. Ages 31 and 32.

Military operation with numerous staff directing at every point. Was in and out of the building within about 5 minutes!
