Anyone else?

Web site I mean, something strange happened yesterday as I couldn’t get the ‘are you a health worker’ page...

OP posts:
Goodebe · 09/05/2021 17:40

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/uk-57010120.amp
And I’ve worked out why ...

Yeah just tried as well. Hopefully they are updating it so the next age group can book on 🤞

Goodebe · 09/05/2021 17:49

I keep trying randomly just in case I can manage to sneak through first !!

OP posts:
LondonWFuck · 09/05/2021 17:54

Goodness! As it happens, I was randomly earlier wondering if it would be possible to see friends' appointments (just idly wondering, I didn't try it!) given that people can book using just name, DOB etc.....

I wonder if this means people will only be able to book using their nhs numbers? If so, I'd better locate mine ASAP!

Goodebe · 09/05/2021 18:00

Hahaaa ... That’s exactly what I’m trying to do... where on earth can I find it?!

OP posts:
squiglet111 · 09/05/2021 18:01

I was hoping it was being updated so over 35s could book. Fingers crossed!

nordica · 09/05/2021 18:02

You can get your NHS number here www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/find-nhs-number/

They may also be updating the system as they are making a change to allow under 40s and pregnant women to book a non-AZ vaccine.

Goodebe · 09/05/2021 18:17

Fantastic thank you - nhs number at the ready... now the booking site is working again but I’m still not eligible, hopefully not too much longer to wait.

OP posts:
squiglet111 · 09/05/2021 18:18

I just got on but can't book. Still for 40s or over

squiglet111 · 09/05/2021 18:18

Could it be by 8am in the morning?

EasterIssland · 09/05/2021 18:20

For the existing appointments it requests the reference number so you won’t be able to see any others appointments unless you’ve this. You can however book for them

nordica · 09/05/2021 19:04

Probably too optimistic to think it could still open up for us 35-39s tonight?! Surely it must be any day now though...

WombatChocolate · 09/05/2021 19:42

Don’t just look at what the front page says.
Input your data and see if it accepts you. If it does you are eligible and the system is being updated. They don’t update the front page until everyone has been added, so in the time they are doing it, gradually more and more people find they can book.

Could well be tonight as Boris is speaking to the nation tomorrow and loves to say further rollout has happened, plus over 40s figures are looking good.

nordica · 09/05/2021 19:53

Yes I've tried and still no.
1983 born so must be among the next now I hope...

Goodebe · 09/05/2021 20:26

Also 1983, and I keep trying! I would love to get past that bloody page that says I’m not eligible hahaaa what a day that will be!

OP posts:

Same here and I'm 1981! I think it's being updated to allow the under 40s and pregnant women to specifically book a non-AZ vaccination. I don't think we'll be able to book until they've made that update.
Goodebe · 09/05/2021 20:50

There are very few places near me which can administer the other types of jabs so I wonder how they will do that, i would like any though to be honest!

Places are just going to have to adapt, aren't they? Must admit I know naff all about the logistics, but surely in order to continue to be functioning jab centres they will have to be able to offer all 3 or at least 2 types?
BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 09/05/2021 21:07

I believe that under 40s are going to be offered the choice. So if you click the non-AZ route you may be offered appointments further away/at a later date than if you clicked the AZ route. You can still book the AZ route if you prefer to (unless you are pregnant obviously).

Wellbythebloodyhell · 09/05/2021 22:42

I suspect the booking system is being amended so it only offers those under 40 an appointment at a Pfizer/moderna clinic whereas before it would be open to all available vaccine appointments, that's why even the health care worker option isn't showing for the under 40s

Goodebe · 10/05/2021 06:08

Trying to book again - still not eligible. I’m
Not very patient.

OP posts:
NeilBuchananisBanksy · 10/05/2021 06:30

Oooh I got my hopes up with this but just checked and it says over 40.

Hopefully it will be very soon!

LondonWFuck · 10/05/2021 06:36

I'm 40 and was able to rebook my appointments this morning. Wasn't asked if I was pregnant though so seems they haven't sorted that bit out yet.
