Do Test Centres Work Weekends?

Have sent off a postal PCR that hopefully got to the test centre today with a bit of luck. Just wondering if anyone knows if we can expect the results this weekend or if it’s more likely to be Monday (which would mean another day off school and me cancelling work).

I believe so, it’s still imperative that any contacts are isolated ASAP so test results are a priority. I believe there’s still a Sunday collection for priority post boxes too.

I reckon as you’ve posted today you’ll have the results in the next 24hrs (don’t hunt me down if you don’t! ).

One thing I would say - keep an eye on your emails. The last couple of years we had to do the results came through to the email used a number of hours before the text result.

Thanks. It should have been picked up yesterday so hoping they will come through tomorrow- keeping everything crossed!

My DDs was posted last Sunday, delivered to the lab later that evening and we got her result midnight Monday night/Tuesday morning. So the test was processed on a public holiday with the result 26 hours after arriving at lab. Agree with watching email as our midnight result was email and the text result arrived 7 hours later at 7am Tuesday.

I used the Royal Mail tracking code on the return packaging. Did you take a note of this?

I didn’t but will next time. Just had the result. Negative. Hurrah. So that’s about 26 hours from posting. Pretty impressive!
