Hello

I have just had my 2nd AstraZeneca vaccine today I'm 28 and after seeing the news I'm a little nervous about it ! I had the 1st one before all this clotting come to light ! I was fine apart from normal 24 hours after side effects ! So far I haven't had anything yet after my 2nd !

Has anyone else had there AZ vaccine under age of 40 ? How do you feel about it ?

Nurse today said they are telling people who have already had their first dose of the AZ to continue and have there 2nd !

Just want to see how others feel about it

Thanks 😊

Louise

Hi! I am 29 and similar feelings here. I had my first in Feb due to being an unpaid carer and due my second very soon - I wish I just waited tbh!

I don't have much advice but if it helps it's said that the risk of serious side effects is much much less with the second dose.

I didn't have any symptoms after the first dose! Not even a sore arm. I am worried about the second so much so I am thinking of putting it back a week or two (it's booked for 10.5 weeks after my first so could out back 1.5 weeks). Maybe try and speak to someone to ease my anxiety!

Dp is 40 and booked his too. He's 40 so can rightfully have AZ but only just so he's extremely anxious!

@Buby51 I'm thinking of doing the same. Booked for Tuesday which will be bang on 11 weeks but read that Ireland are leaving a 16 week gap

I had mine and have my second this weekend. Honestly I have no hesitation at all. The risk of serious side effects are so much lower than covid. Also much lower than the contraceptive pill that I've taken for most of my adult life with barely a second thought! I'm just grateful we have a vaccine that seems to be working.

I’m 37 and have had both doses. I feel ok about it really. I think it’s important to be aware of any symptoms and get them checked out if necessary but I don’t worry about the clotting issue really.

It’s a pretty small risk and I understand the condition is treatable if you are aware of the symptoms and seek help.

I'm in my 40s had az in March and gp have made an appointment for my second next week. I was floored by my first, spent a week and half in bed hobbling around, sharp pains in my head and headaches .

TreacleTits · 07/05/2021 22:38

I had the AZ in March, I’m 34.
My second is in 4 weeks
The blood clotting thing - there’s not enough cases out there for me to be worried

Thanks everyone !

Will start to calm down about it.Have done some more research on it and it's a very rare chance by the sounds of it

I am so grateful to have been able to get the vaccine, just all this scare news about it on the day I had my 2nd has not helped my anxiety at all .

Woke up this morning feeling okay .

Just feel I am going to panic whenever I get a headache now after nurse said to keep an eye out for ones that do not pass with paracetamol.
