What will you be doing on Eid?

Eid this year will be a few days before lockdown easing on the 17th May - wondering how many will follow the rules on gatherings?

We will be - for a variety of reasons, including DH being ECV, and I'm also pregnant in the final trimester - but we're definitely outliers among those we know. Both my family and in-laws are gathering indoors, with 4/5 households. We'll wait and do something outdoors with them the following week I think. It still sucks to be spending it alone though.

I also dislike the optic of lots of Muslim families flooding into each others' houses and somehow being part of that 'reporting'.

Well, if it is what Muslim community choose to do, fair play to them. But then stop moaning how you are disproportionately hit by Covid...

Who is moaning?!
Stop othering muslims.

Op, I will go to my mother in laws and give her her presents then take my kids shopping and enjoy eating during the day time.

Then back home with a takaway to play with presents and eat food.

Not sticking to the rules is not limited to one religion. But people really need to be sensible, sticking to a max 3 households similar to the Christmas regs is a sensible precaution especially if some aren't vaccinated.

I cant wait. The muslim parents at the school where i work drop in lots of lovely food to the staff room. There is a milky cardamom thing with vermicelli which i love that one mum brings.
